The figures show a 56.1% and 56.5% increase respectively, according to the director of Chabahar’s Veterinary Organization.
“Shrimps produced in Chabahar are of the litopenaeus vannamei [whiteleg] species and each kilo of which is valued at about $5 in the international markets. Our export destinations were Thailand, the UAE, Oman and Hong Kong,” Oliya Mirlashari was quoted as saying by IRNA on Tuesday.
Shrimp harvest season starts around July 22 and lasts until Sept. 22, according to Financial Tribune.
